You start as this assistant to a big-shot senator on Earth, while Mars is trying to become its own thing with its own rules, own calendar, own kinks. Your boss is all about shutting down polygamy and polyandry, making marriage “pure” again, and then your character is constantly surrounded by people who very clearly don’t give a shit about that.
